Welcome to the new BLABALL.COM
As founder and League Czar, I would like to welcome you to the Baseball League in Arlington's redesigned website. Please take a moment and look around. The new-look website is the culmination of web guru Ted Sorrells' guidance and the persistent vision that I've long held for the BLA's presence on the Internet. The top menu in the banner links to much of the essential information that will give website guests a taste of what our league is about.
The new "About Us" category, for example, contains the lengthy and quasi-complete saga of the origins of the BLA, from the Fort Worth Strangers to the short-lived Moret Baseball Association to the successful league we have today.
You'll also find links to the BLA constitution (Rules), a list of managers and a link that will take you directly to the database download page.

Morneau leads All-Star win at BLA NiteAmidst a real-life major league backdrop -- and a $259 beer tab -- the Justin Morneau-led East team defeated the West, 11-8, in the 2007 BLA All-Star Game. The game was played on August 7 live at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington as part of the league's annual BLA Nite. A crowd of 12 assorted BLA managers and friends gathered in the Mel Ott Suite at the ballpark to watch the Texas Rangers host the Oakland Athletics. The group ate, drank, drank a little more, and somewhere between real-life home runs by Marlon Byrd and (on the suite's plasma TV) Barry Bonds, the Baseball League in Arlington's star players squared off. Real-life All-Star games tend to be dominated by classic pitching. But after White Rock's Andruw Jones hit a three-run homer to give the East a 4-1 lead, the BLA game began to resemble more the NHL All-Star Game more than a baseball one. |

E-9s avoid Voodoo to win '06 Series
The deCordova Bend E-9s, managed by Johnny Paul, stormed back from a two-game deficit in the semifinal round and went on to defeat the New Orleans Voodoo, four games to two, to capture the 2006 Baseball League in Arlington World Series.
The E-9s left no doubt in the deciding sixth game, jumping to an early nine-run lead off Voodoo starter Javier Vazquez and rolling to a 14-7 triumph.
In winning the World Series, the E-9s also made BLA history. Formerly the Aledo Roadkill, DCB is one of the league's founding franchises under manager Johnny Paul. The E-9s made the playoffs this time as a wild-card team and became the first franchise to win the World Series after finishing third in the regular season. It didn't come easy. The E-9s overcame difficult six-game tests in the playoffs' first two rounds. DCB defeated the Cowtown YellaDawgs, managed by Chris Smith, in the opening round, and then found itself in an 0-2 hole against the Boston Green Monsters in the semifinals.
